Christian Infertility Testimony: Nike's Testimony of Faith and Hope

When Nike married in 1982, she expected motherhood to follow naturally. But as two years became four, and the years continued to pass without a pregnancy, what began as hopeful anticipation gradually became a deeply challenging season of waiting.
She and her husband sought answers through different avenues, including medical consultations and treatment in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Despite their efforts, conception remained elusive. During a visit to London in 1993, Nike experienced a spiritual turning point that transformed her relationship with God and changed how she approached her circumstances.
Back in Nigeria, she became more committed to her faith and found encouragement through fellowship at Fountain of Life Church. In 1996, a message from her pastor strengthened her conviction that her season of waiting would eventually come to an end.
Yet 1997 passed without the pregnancy she had hoped for. She also faced pressure from relatives who wanted her to pursue other spiritual remedies. Nike chose instead to remain guided by her Christian convictions, even declaring her belief that she would return to her family with a child the following year.
In 1998, after 16 years of waiting, Nike conceived and subsequently welcomed a daughter, who, according to her account, was born prematurely before the end of that year.
Looking back, Nike saw the experience as a testimony of God’s faithfulness through a prolonged and uncertain season. Her story offers encouragement to those who understand the emotional weight of waiting, particularly when time passes, expectations grow and answers remain uncertain.
